Old School Style Weight Training
in the denver metro area
My name is John Taylor, and I offer a "back to basics" style of personal training. Workouts take place in Westminster, CO at the Classic Barbell Club. OR! You can have the workouts in your home.
Why back to basics, old school weight lifting? Good question! Here's why...
The strongest athletes in the world continue to train this way, because it works. Even if you do not have the goal to be one of the strongest people in the world, training in this effective, time proven manner will produce kick ass results for you.
This also allows for simple and time efficient workouts. Doesn't matter if you choose to train in the gym, or at your home.
However, there IS a catch in order to make this style of training work for you in the best way possible...
LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS TO IMPROVE YOUR PHYSIQUE
Lift heavy! Yes, you have to lift heavy weights in order to produce the best results in the quickest amount of time possible.
This may scare some of you, but don't worry, it's not as bad as you might think.
Some of you already like lifting heavy, and are probably thinking, "hell yeah!".
Lifting "heavy" does not mean you have to try and squat 500 lbs. on your first day. Not at all!
Learning to lift what is considered "heavy" for you is important, and it gets results. As the saying goes, no pain no gain!
When we train together, you can save yourself years of doing things incorrectly, and even dangerously. There really is a right and wrong way to lifting technique.
I want to make sure you do things the right away, in the safest, most effective manner possible. Why spend years on your own trying to figure everything out for yourself when you can start making progress right now?
Now, if you were looking for easy going, very little effort workouts and exercise programs, this is not your place. If you're ready to put in some serious work to improve your physique, now we are on the same page!
One great benefit of lifting heavy is you get to...
INCREASE YOUR STRENGTH
Okay, this may seem obvious to a lot of people. But, hey! - it's still worth mentioning.
We're not talking about just getting super human strong. Overall strength can mean a lot of things to different people.
Increased strength can mean increased energy throughout your day. I like having more energy. Don't you?
Increased strength means you can perform normal activities with greater ease: sitting down, standing up, getting in and out of the car, walking, picking things up to move around, etc.
For you parents, lifting your kids up can be easier with increased strength. This works for the fur baby parents out there too.
For all of you, increasing your strength can definitely help you...
BUILD BIGGER MUSCLES
The stronger you are results in the heavier you can lift. The heavier you can lift leads to growing more muscle/lean body mass.
Some of you don't want to get all big and bulky. You have nothing to worry about!
It takes years of extreme dedication to put on a bunch of muscle. You may be surprised how difficult it is to reach a point of "too much muscle".
If you are someone who wants to build a lot of muscle really fast, well, bad news! Yes, it takes time, it takes dedication, but it can be done.
Ladies, lifting weights will not make you look like a man.
Gentlemen, lifting weights will not make you musclebound unless you do specific training for many many years.
Lifting weights will indeed increase your muscle mass, which leads to a better looking physique, and another benefit...
Here's what I used to look Like
Here's how i look now
KEEP OFF UNWANTED FAT
The more muscle you have results in having less unwanted fat.
With increased muscle mass comes an increase in calories burned at rest.
The more calories you burn at rest results in making fat loss easier.
Did that just say easier fat loss?
Damn right it did!
To make all of this possible, there is one important thing to do in order to maximize your progress...
Learn what you should eat
Proper nutrition is very important to living a healthy life, and that includes an active life.
Knowing what to eat can maximize strength gains.
Knowing what to eat can speed up building muscle as fast as possible.
Knowing what to eat can make keeping unsightly fat off of you, and make a weight loss journey easier to do.
Eating healthy does not have to be difficult or boring.
